Setting up your home gym

October 7, 2015

Tired of making the trek to the gym (or pretending you do) every day? home-home-gym-design-lucury-9100-oldcutler-14 Most Inspired Homes floor plans include flex rooms -- the ideal location for your very own home gym. Here are some tips for setting up your personal fitness oasis.

  1. Select your space wisely. We often look for reasons not to exercise, so choose a room that is light, well-ventilated and doesn't give you a built-in excuse to skip your workout.
  2. Set a budget. There is workout equipment to fit every space and every price point. Do your research with a dollar figure in mind.
  3. Think dual purpose. If your gym is going to share space with your home office, bedroom or living room, buy furniture and shelving that has storage for your exercise equipment.
  4. Add plants. They add oxygen and light to your workout room.
  5. Make a schedule. It's easy to get distracted from your fitness goals, even more so at home, so post your workout schedule where everyone can see it.
  6. Buy a full-length mirror. You'll want to admire your amazing new shape!

Working with the Inspired Homes team was really like nothing I expected. They stayed with us through the entire process and made us feel like we were their only clients. Our house is so beautiful, organized, and peaceful. Everyday life has just been easier ever since we moved in. Everything has a place and the living room is so open and big, my son and I can run around and be crazy without bothering his mom. It feels like every morning is the first day of vacation at a fancy Air BnB. Our family is so happy there.
