While local pumpkin patches and apple orchards offer a beautiful backdrop to any fall day, there’s nothing quite like a good old fashioned haunted house to get you in the spirit of the season—especially when Halloween is just around the corner. With a number of haunted attractions to choose from scattered throughout the Greater Kansas City area, our team at Inspired Homes has selected a few of our favorites to share. 

Acres of Madness

Starting off our list of haunted hangout locations you won’t want to miss this year is the Acres of Madness attraction at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, KS. With a number of different attractions to visit within this haunted area including the Zombie Purge Monster Bus, the House of Horrors, the Riot Room and Hell’s Gate just to name a few—you’ll definitely want to make some space on your busy calendars to experience them all.

Halloween Haunt

If you’re looking for something that the whole family will be able to enjoy together, you will definitely want to make a stop at Worlds Of Fun in Kansas City, MO for the annual Halloween Haunt. During daylight hours, the amusement park features a fun and exciting environment with plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy, but as soon as the sun goes down, the haunted attractions begin, and you’ll want to keep your eyes wide open as you make your way through the park in the moonlight. 

The Beast

As one of the most well-known haunted houses in the Greater Kansas City area, we knew that we had to include The Beast on our list. Located in Kansas City, MO, this haunted attraction never fails to draw a large crowd each weekend. With stunning set designs and enthusiastic actors that make you feel as if you’re truly in your own horror movie—see if you can make it through the entire multi-floor haunted attraction.  

The Edge of Hell

Next up, and located just steps away from The Beast, is The Edge of Hell. This haunted house is the oldest commercial haunted attraction in America, and it will easily stand the test of time for many more years to come. The overall experience within this multi-level haunted house is hard to forget, so for anyone looking for a good scare this Halloween season—you’ve come to the right place.  

Exiled Trail of Terrors

Last on our list is the Exiled Trail of Terrors in Bonner Springs, KS. This frightening attraction takes visitors on a one-mile hike through the haunted forest scenery—making it a must-see destination this Halloween season, but make note that it’s not for the faint of heart.
